The Global Youth Forum 2016: A focus on innovation in social entrepreneurship

This year’s Global Youth Forum is all about social entrepreneurship and innovation. The two-day event will take place on November 27 and 28, 2016 at the American University in Dubai and the Dubai Chambers of Commerce, respectively. An initiative of CSR Al Ahli, this year’s forum will focus on social innovation as a means to promote a social entrepreneurship mindset, with social businesses from the around the world competing for a US$20,000 prize.

As the MENA region continues to endure socio-economic challenges in a rapidly changing environment, businesses, governments and non-governmental organizations are struggling to find long-term solutions to a myriad of social, economic, environmental, security and technological challenges. The conference will be an opportunity to uncover the social entrepreneurship ecosystem, to foster learning of social entrepreneurship practices, and to promote an enabling policy environment for social enterprises.

Lina Hourani, Director of CSR at Al Ahli Group, said, “The Global Youth Forum is the conclusion of the several programs that we execute throughout the year, such as Global Business Opportunities, Business for a Cause, and CSR in Action. Through these programs, we help young talent develop their skills, gain international experience, and explore opportunities to network and grow with the right partners.”

The Global Youth Forum 2016 will take place from 9am – 2:45pm on Day 1 at the American University in Dubai, and from 9am – 2:15pm the following day at the Dubai Chambers of Commerce. Both days will comprise workshops, motivational speeches, pitch competitions and more.
