Qatar Tourism Authority and Design Creationz successfully wrap up six days of world-class fashion

Organised by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) in partnership with Design Creationz, the 7th Edition of the Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition concluded on Monday, after 6 days of memorable world class fashion.

Following the successful wrap-up of the largest and most prominent edition so far, organizers have already set in motion plans to host an eighth edition before the end of 2015.

“For the next edition of Heya, we are looking at attracting designers from the GCC as well as Europe, Asia, Africa and the USA. This comes in line with our efforts to position the Heya exhibition on the global fashion scene, bringing together designers and fashion lovers who share a strong common passion for Arabian design and women fashion,” said Michelle Demenjon, Operational GM of Design Creationz.

“We are proud to have played an important role in revamping this year’s Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition. With the support of Qatar Tourism Authority we managed to organize and host the biggest and the most popular Heya edition yet and I would like to thank all our partners and the participating designers for taking part in this year’s event.”

Mr. Hamad Al Abdan, Director of Exhibitions at QTA, commented, “QTA considers exhibitions and conferences one of the most important tools in developing the tourism industry, and we always strive to support the private sector to develop innovative platforms for art, industry and fashion. This showcase has been the perfect blend of tradition and luxury, and we are grateful to our partners and the designers for highlighting the best of what the GCC has to offer to tourists and residents alike.”

Nearly 287 fashion designers from Qatar Kuwait, KSA, UAE Bahrain and Oman participated through 339 stands, benefitting from the unique opportunity to tap into Qatar’s market, gaining new customers and leveraging the three social zones on the exhibition floor by Pierre Hermé Paris, W Café and Katara Halls to network and connect with other regional and international talent.

“This was the ideal platform to showcase my designs and gain a broad base of  brand followers from around the world,” said Sharifa Al Ghanim, Kuwaiti designer and patron of the growing ‘Hamsa’ brand. “As a designer it is important to be exposed to other concepts and I am looking forward to participating next time alongside global brands.”
