15 Loeries for JWT MEA at #Loeries2017

The Loeries Creative Festival is the biggest creative gathering in Africa and the Middle East. The Festival brings together the best innovative minds from the industry for a week of recognition, reward and inspiration.

Across two nights, more than 200 Loeries were awarded across twenty-two categories.

This year, our teams in the Middle East and Africa took home a total of fifteen wins from the festival: three Gold, four Silver and eight Bronze.

In the Effective Creativity category JWT Riyadh and Saudi Telecom’s (STC) “LaYwagif” (which means non-stop)  earned a Gold Loerie. Since the Saudi youth are very active on YouTube, our team in Riyadh created“LaYwagif” an online hub that featured light-hearted videos about broadband. Thanks to this campaign, STC became the world’s most-viewed telecom brand on Youtube.

Our second Gold Loerie was awarded to JWT Dubai’s “Micropolitics” campaign for the Egyptian news organization, Mada Masr. The campaign featured two films, “Suzy’s Beauty Salon” and “Under-14 Handball.” Each was designed to renew readers’ interest in politics by highlighting the many ways politics happen around us every day.

JWT Cape Town’s work for the Organ Donor Foundation, “Dead Zone Radio” received a Silver Loerie in the Ambient & Alternative Media category. The Cape Town team also received three Bronze Loeries for work created for clients Marmite, SANBS and Tabard.

Another Silver winner, JWT Johannesburg, walked away with a Silver Loerie in the Indoor Posters category for a campaign for Zam-Buk, an antiseptic ointment brand. JWT Casablanca earned a Silver Loerie in the Tactical Use of Magazine category and a Bronze Loerie in the Single Medium category for their “Uncover Violence” campaign for ENTI.ma. Scanad brought home our final Silver Loerie in the Art Direction category for “Long Lasting Pleasure,” a campaign created for Masculan, a condom brand.

We also received Bronze Loeries for JWT Riyadh’s “Bedtime Stories” campaign in the Photography category; JWT Dubai’s “Cost” campaign in the Radio Station Commercials category; and JWT KSA’s “Unveil Saudi” campaign in the Integrated campaign category.
