Cheil MENA Wins Gold and Silver at LOERIES 2016

Cheil MENA has taken home three awards in total in the categories ‘Newspaper Advertising’ (Gold) for Samsung Noise Cancellation Print, ‘Digital & Interactive’ under Mobile Applications & Sites (Silver) for Samsung KalimaLock, ‘Shared Value’ (Silver) for KalimaLock and a craft certificate for ‘Digital Crafts’ under Interface & Navigation category for KalimaLock again, in addition to four other nominations in Digital Crafts, Integrated Campaign and Internet Video. 

A total of 179 awards were given at Loeries2016, the most prestigious creative industry and brand communication awards for Africa and the Middle East, which took place in Durban, South Africa.  This win at Loeries comes after Cheil MENA’s win at Dubai Lynx, D&AD and The One Show, in addition to nominations at Cannes.

The Samsung Noise Cancellation Print campaign, which won Gold, aimed to promote Level Pro noise cancelling feature in a series of fun and intuitive ads that highlight how it allows you to enjoy your music without any distractions.

The KalimaLock application teaches users to write words in Arabic, as well as providing their meanings and connotations in both Arabic and English and is available on the Samsung Galaxy store, Google Play and is compatible with Galaxy smartphones and tablets.

Keesoo Kim, President and Head of Cheil MENA RHQ went on to add, “2016 has been a great year for Cheil MENA having won some of the most recognised awards in our industry. Specifically, with the Loerie Gold win, which was a joint entry by Cheil UAE and Cheil KSA, having won at the first time of entering for Cheil KSA, is a testament to our focus on insight, creativity and technology which informs all of our work here in the region.”
