Volkswagen Bridges the Gap Between the Digital and Real World at the Dubai International Motor Show

seeMore – an augmented reality app by Volkswagen will debut in the region on 10th November at the Dubai International Motor Show. The app, utilising intuitive technology, is capable of ‘recognizing’ Volkswagen models and provide users with interactive digital content using augmented and virtual reality.

Using a smartphone camera, the app can scan images from mediums including catalogues, billboards and real-life Volkswagen cars on the street or in a showroom. The app’s in-built sound recognition functionality can also recognise sounds on the radio, television advertisements and provide the user with additional information and 3D images to explore a Volkswagen model.

“Volkswagen is dedicated to enhancing customer experiences – Changing customer needs dictate the requirement for innovative thinking and investment in new technology to meet those demands. With seeMore our customers can explore the full Volkswagen model range using intuitive and interactive technology, with the same high standard of customer service they expect when they visit a Volkswagen showroom in person,” said Thomas Milz, Managing Director, Volkswagen Middle East.

Users of the app are able to change and explore a car’s exterior – including its colours and wheels – and survey the interior features of the model with a 360 view, allowing them to gather more information instantly and interactively.

The Volkswagen seeMore App also provides users with features including content bookmarks, access to top-rated content, routes to the closest Volkswagen dealership and more.

SeeMore will make its Middle East debut on the Volkswagen stand at Dubai International Motor Show, from 10 – 14 November. The application will be available for download for Android and iOS smartphones and tablets across the region from November 10th 2015.
