MENA’s Growing Demand for HD Broadcast Services Drives Double Digit Growth for ABS Network

ABS Network, a leading Middle East and North Africa (MENA) provider of all broadcasting and production services, has reported impressive double digit year on year growth in its profits through 2014. The company attributes this success to the investments it made into state of the art HD/SD application technology for all its offices and the establishment of a quick deployment operations department which allowed it to secure agreements with new regional customers including Al Arab TV and Live HD as well as expand its business with key customers such as the MBC Group and Jeem Channel, a part of the Al Jazeera children network. ABS Network now has an employee strength of over 250 and expects to maintain its growth momentum through 2015 as it will soon launch a News Agency and provide production services for a popular regional drama series.

“The incredible demand for high quality HD services in the Middle East played to the favour of our business in 2014. We were quick to spot the trend and made rapid investments into equipment and personnel,” said Mohammed Al Ajlouni, Chairman of ABS Network. While the bulk of the company’s business came from medium to large broadcasters, ABS Network also extended its services to smaller clients. “The broader scope allowed us to deepen our penetration into major markets such as the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia while also making inroads into high potential markets such as Egypt, Syria and Tunisia.”

Among the company’s many investments during 2014 were the upgrade of all its branches to the latest HD technology, the establishment of a quick deployment operations department with special equipment, and purchase of fully redundant HD systems to cover high profile events across the GCC. This has enabled ABS Network to manage a significantly larger volume of work and provide a higher quality of services to clients.

Based on its success, the company has earmarked ambitious plans for 2015. It will expand its network, starting with the opening of new branches and is looking to create an entirely new line of business by manufacturing and selling ABS branded equipment. The company is set to participate at CABSAT 2015, where it intends to announce the signing of its new partnership with a US/UK based organization. In 2015, ABS Network will also set up two new divisions- a new consultancy arm that will also provide outsourcing services to clients; and a international planning team that will covering events even in countries where the company does not have a physical presence.

Mohammed Al Ajlouni said, “We see a huge potential for growth and are eager to position ourselves as the biggest provider of broadcast services across all majors in the Middle East and North Africa, the company is on track to achieving this goal and will be a key partner to regional broadcasters for the entire production of features and documentaries, programs and shows as well as sports and special events.
