Australian music’s biggest night of the year is almost here, with an all-star lineup of local and international nominees announced today. This year, artists will be celebrated across 29 categories with the winners crowned on Wednesday, 15 November at The Hordern Pavilion on Gadigal land.
In a celebration of excellence in Australian music over the past year, the refreshed and revamped 2023 ARIA Awards will showcase the achievements of the best in our homegrown music community as well as the 2023 inductee to the ARIA Hall of Fame: Jet.
For the first time, the ARIA Awards will go live to air at 5.00pm AEDT on Stan. The live stream will be followed by a free-to-air broadcast across the Nine Network at 7.30pm AEDT with performances and moments available on the @ARIA.official YouTube channel.

Local superstar Genesis Owusu is closing a huge year with seven ARIA Award nominations for his highly anticipated and critically acclaimed album STRUGGLER, claiming nominations for Album Of The Year, Best Hip Hop/Rap Release, Best Independent Release presented by PPCA, Best Solo Artist, Best Video presented by YouTube (Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore), Engineer – Best Engineered Release (Simon Cohen, Dave Hammer), and Producer – Best Produced Release presented by Neumann (Andrew Klippel and Dave Hammer). With over 93 million streams and glowing endorsements from fans around the world, Owusu continues to impress with his exciting creative production and the biggest shows yet, here and globally.
Cementing themselves among the hottest Australian artists across the international music landscape are G Flip, Dom Dolla and Troye Sivan with six ARIA Award nominations each.
All three artists will compete for Best Solo Artist alongside Budjerah, Dan Sultan, Genesis Owusu, Jen Cloher, Kylie Minogue, Meg Mac and The Kid LAROI.
G Flip has ushered in a bold new era with sophomore album DRUMMER, securing their status as a force of nature after a year of rapid global audience growth. This year, they are nominated for Album of the Year, Best Australian Live Act, Best Independent Release presented by PPCA, Best Rock Album, Best Solo Artist and Best Video presented by YouTube (Kyle Caulfield).
Hailed as “the perfect popstar” by TIME thanks to his hit single Rush, Troye Sivan has firmly established himself as a global icon in the world of pop music and fashion. Sivan is nominated for Best Pop Release, Best Solo Artist, Song of the Year presented by YouTube, Engineer – Best Engineered Release (Styalz Fuego), Producer – Best Produced Release presented by Neumann (Styalz Fuego) and Best Dance/Electronic Release (PNAU and Troye Sivan).
Coming off a huge year after Eat Your Man, his collaboration with Grammy Award-winning pop icon Nelly Furtado, Dom Dolla scores six nominations for Best Australian Live Act, Best Solo Artist, Engineer – Best Engineered Release, Producer – Best Produced Release presented by Neumann, Best Dance/Electronic (MK and Dom Dolla) and Song of the Year presented by YouTube (MK and Dom Dolla).
This year the ARIA Awards will celebrate the 50th anniversary of global hip hop, showcasing this exciting genre and its history in Australia as well as this year’s five nominees for Best Hip Hop/Rap Release: Genesis Owusu with STRUGGLER, KAHUKX’s NOTHING TO SOMETHING, Kerser with A Gift & A Kers, ONEFOUR Ft. CG on Comma’s, and Tkay Maidza & Flume for Silent Assassin.
After winning back-to-back ARIA Awards in 2021 and 2022, and hard on the heels of supporting international star Ed Sheeran on his 2023 Australian Tour, Budjerah earns five nominations: Best Australian Live Act, Best Pop Release, Best Solo Artist, Song of the Year presented by YouTube and Best Video presented by YouTube (Murli Dhir; Made in Katana Studios).
This year, DMA’S are nominated for Album of the Year, Best Australian Live Act, Best Group presented by Stan, Best Rock Album and Best Video presented by YouTube (Joel Burrows). Their album How Many Dreams? was released to critical acclaim in March 2023 and marked the band’s highest chart debuts to date, including #2 on the ARIA Albums Chart and #3 on the UK Official Chart.
Australia’s pop princess Kylie Minogue lands four nominations: Best Independent Release presented by PPCA, Best Pop Release, Best Solo Artist and Song of the Year presented by YouTube. Kylie introduced her 16th studio album, Tension, with the smash hit Padam Padam, which has amassed over 17 million views on YouTube since it premiered in May.
The stats on King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s colourful career continue to stack up, as the band secures a total of four nominations: Best Group presented by Stan, Best Rock Album, Best Hard Rock / Heavy Metal Album, Best Video presented by YouTube (Spod).
Acclaimed 2020 Grammy nominees, The Teskey Brothers, have amassed a legion of fans around the world with their timeless soulful recordings and stunning live shows. This year they land four nominations: Album of the Year, Best Blues and Roots Album, Best Group presented by Stan, Engineer – Best Engineered Release (Eric J Dubowsky, Sam Teskey, Wayne Connolly).
