A new mobile telephony operator chooses the Oracle Cloud to guarantee flexible company management in total security
For a company making its first appearance on a new market, moving onto the cloud is practically obligatory and that was the decision made by Ringo Mobile, the new mobile telephony operator which has just entered the Italian market, focusing in particular on all those people whose lifestyle or cultural ties mean they need to communicate with other countries. Ringo Mobile is part of the ICS Group, founded in 2008 and active today in Switzerland and Egypt. The company aims to expand its presence in Italy and plans to create new subsidiaries in other European countries as well.
For a distributed enterprise that is destined to grow, the ability to manage business processes simply, efficiently and – above all – flexibly, using tools that can be adapted to future needs in modular increments, is an important advantage. The Cloud guarantees all of this, and it is equally important to have integrated systems in place which can support the evolution of all the critical business areas, from finance and marketing to document management.
To meet these needs, Ringo Mobile chose a series of Oracle Saas Applications: Oracle ERP Cloud and Oracle EPM Cloud for back office and finance management, and Oracle Service Cloud and Oracle Marketing Cloud for customer service and campaigns. Even its document management has moved onto the cloud with Oracle Documents Cloud and so has its human resources management with Oracle HCM Cloud. Indeed, the company has opted to rely on a single partner for all the key management components of its complex business, which has to handle a wide variety of scenarios and markets as well as continually changing customer needs.
The first solution adopted by Ringo Mobile was the Oracle ERP Cloud. Simplicity, flexibility and cost control on the pay-as-you-grow model made it possible to acquire high-performance applications while limiting initial investment and modulating it according to growth. The management of financial processes was integrated into a single cloud solution, with the additional option of connecting the billing system of the data centers used to manage the telephone traffic. Ringo Mobile also manages its budgeting and planning activities in the Cloud which, for a company that operates in more than one country, involve a series of complexities, such as dealing with different currencies.
The Cloud solves the management problems and the needs common to all the countries in which Ringo Mobile is active. In fact, it is a single system, accessible from mobile devices and also integrated with Human Resources management.
“Talent management is of paramount importance. Our people are the essence of our success,” explained Ringo Mobile Chairman, Ramy Berbesh. “The functionalities of Oracle’s HCM solutions enable us to have a complete picture and maximise the value of our resources.”
Another key element that led Ringo Mobile to rely on Oracle for its application needs is the strong emphasis on security and data protection. Ramy Berbesh, the founder of the company, firmly believes in the cloud: “Today the cloud is not a option, it’s a necessity. To compete and win you need cost control, operational control and flexibility – in other words, you need the cloud, but a cloud that can guarantee security and who better than Oracle can offer that guarantee? Choosing the cloud was a natural step for us; the distributed nature of our business made it an obvious move. We already had a corporate culture oriented towards recognizing the added value of Software-as-a-Service applications. Business Reply, the Oracle partner who assisted us with our choice and is aiding us now to realize the projects, thoroughly understands our needs and proposed a solution that has the appropriate features for our local requirements but also supports a multi-country approach, which enabled us to unify our systems. The positive experience with ERP led us to turn to Oracle for other needs as well.”
