The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has announced an exciting new addition to the star-studded line up at this year’s Mother of the Nation festival – Myriam Fares.
The Lebanese singing sensation will perform on the main stage on Wednesday at 9.30pm.
Also a renowned performer and entertainer, Fares is recognised across the Middle East as one of the only Arab female artists who performs choreographed dance routines while singing. She was given the title of “Queen of Stage” by Arab media and has released numerous studio albums, with several chart-topping singles including her debut “Ana Wel Shou”, “Nadini”, “Moukanah Wein”, “Mosh Ananiyya”, “Eih Elli Byohsal”, and “Nifsi A’oulhalak”, some of which will be performed at the festival tonight. Her fifth album “Aman” has broken record sales and views on YouTube. Myriam was named as the only “Google ambassador” & “Fastest Rising Artist” in the MENA region by a Google Zeitgeist 2011 report.
Home to the biggest artists on Mother of the Nation programme, Fares will join Tunisian-Belgian songstress, composer, actress, dancer and visual artist Ghalia Benali on the Main Stage as well as percussionist and tabla player Daneel Sayegh as tonight’s main acts. They will be supported by sets from MC Jad Haider.
In addition to captivating performances from the best of local, regional and international performers, bands and DJs, Mother of the Nation also features multiple and diverse activity zones to create an entertaining and highly interactive atmosphere that welcomes families and individuals from all walks of life. Running until Saturday 31st March, the festival opens its doors daily from Sundays to Thursdays from 4pm until midnight, and on weekends from 2pm until midnight.
