Dubai Media City Confirms Support for 12th Edition of Dubai Lynx as Strategic Partner

Regional media hub to showcase its expertise and capabilities and facilitate virtual reality tour for guests

Dubai Media City, the region’s leading media hub, today confirmed its support for the 12th edition of the Dubai Lynx International Festival of Creativity (Dubai Lynx) as a strategic partner of the event. The move reinforces DMC’s role as an enabling platform and key facilitator for the MENA region’s creative communications industry.

From its futuristic stand at the festival that runs at the Madinat Arena in Dubai from 11 to 14 March, Dubai Media City will showcase its vibrant ecosystem, expertise and diverse competencies. Visitors can enjoy a one-of-a-kind virtual reality tour of Dubai Media City’s ecosystem, in addition to learning more about the offerings of TECOM Group’s other media communities – Dubai Studio City and Dubai Production City.

The Dubai Media City stand will add a fun element this year, exhibiting Captain Kirk’s command chair and torpedo – two original props from Star Trek Beyond, the 2016 movie from the hugely popular long-running science fiction franchise that was partly filmed in Dubai.

The upcoming edition of Dubai Lynx, a sister festival to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity (Cannes Lions), will feature a broad range of talks, thought sessions and networking events headlined by industry leaders and promoting leading brands. The event will also offer a wealth of networking opportunities, and culminate in an annual awards night that celebrates the best work from across the region and draws the participation of the crème de la crème of the creative industries.

Dubai Media City will contribute its expertise at a TED-style talk by Khadija Al Bastaki, Director Business Development for Dubai Media City. The session will offer the assembled creative communications professionals a better understanding of emerging industry trends, especially in the dynamic digital media arena.

Speaking ahead of the festival, Majed Al Suwaidi, Managing Director of Dubai Media City, said: “We are incredibly proud to once again partner with Dubai Lynx to bring together the region’s creative community, and highlight the best in local and international talent. Through supporting and enabling the creative communications and media industries, we contribute to steadily increasing the regional talent pool of these in-demand professionals and strengthening Dubai’s reputation as a leading media hub in the region.”
