The Financial Times to hold the second FT Family Business Summit in Dubai

FT Wealth – Family Business Forums in 2018 in partnership with Hezar Ventures

The importance of Family Business continues to be a cornerstone of global commercial activity and growth. It has been estimated that over 90% of commercial activity in the Middle East is controlled by family businesses and, and Dubai, as the region’s global hub serves both this community and international trade between family businesses.

In the Middle East, just as elsewhere, family firms are more likely to take a longer term approach to running their businesses showing a readiness to invest capital with patience that can become a competitive advantage.

The Financial Times, in partnership with Hezar Ventures, will hold the second FT Family Business Summit in Dubai on March 27th & 28th 2018. The event will focus on private capital, investment opportunities, technology, innovation and family values including succession and philanthropic and impact goals.   The summit will be 1.5 days of on stage interviews from leading FT Journalists, interactive panel discussions and presentations from leading wealth owners, and experts from Senior executives from the family business and family office sphere.  

The objectives of the summit include connecting wealthy Gulf based family conglomerates and businesses and their investment offices  to a global network of peers, while introducing private foreign investors to opportunities in markets served by Dubai’s hub status.

In attendance at the Summit will be over 200 senior family members working in the enterprise; next generation members; business and wealthy family members not working in the business; Single / Multi Family Offices and selected Sovereign Wealth Fund Principal Investors. The Dubai event will be followed by forums in Nairobi and London later in the year.
