The Global Awards℠ for the World’s Best Healthcare & Wellness Advertising℠ has appointed Fran Pollaro Executive Director of the Global Awards.

We look forward to Fran leveraging his business development savvy along with his robust experience as NYF’s awards manager to expand the competition’s global footprint across all regions and lead all facets of the Global Awards,” said Ellen Smyth, Partner/CEO New York Festivals. “He’s done incredible work these past years working with NYF’s six competitions as well as serving as liaison between New York Festivals and award-winning companies around the world.”
In his new role leading the competition’s expansion, Mr. Pollaro will be responsible for leading all strategic initiatives to elevate the competition’s profile, including recruiting the Global Awards international Grand and Executive Juries, developing strategic alliances, and championing the Young Globals student internship competition.

I look forward to taking the reins and working with NYF Vice President, Michael Demetriades to continue the competition’s impressive legacy,” said Fran. “With this year’s new jury and competition configuration, as well as the newly launched technique categories, the Global Awards are poised for success.”
Mr. Pollaro brings multiple years of global awards management expertise to his new position as well as leadership and communications skills forged while working for over 12+ years in communications and business development. Previously Mr. Pollaro served as Account Manager for DeskZone working on internal and external communications while managing day to day operations and relationships with both national and international customers. He also held the following positions: Senior Customer Account Manager for SNP Communications – a San Francisco based content creation and communications company serving a formidable list of fortune 500 corporations; and Head of Sales and Managing Director of Brentler Inc., a New York City tenant representative real estate firm.
Mr. Pollaro assumes the Executive Director role previously held by Michael Demetriades, VP/Executive Director. Mr. Demetriades currently leads all initiatives for the New York Festivals International Advertising Awards and the AME Awards for Advertising and Marketing Effectiveness.
Founded in 1994, the Global Awards had served as a touchstone for celebrating creative achievement in healthcare and wellness communications beyond the barriers of language and culture.
