• Breitling is the ‘Official Timekeeper’ of the Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2016
• Breitling Wingwalkers return to perform at the event
Breitling has been announced as the ‘Official Timekeeper’ of the Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2016. The Swiss luxury and aviation specialist watchmaker has partnered with the Abu Dhabi based event since 2012, and brings together major players in aviation to showcase the industry’s latest developments and innovations.
Breitling has also confirmed the return of the world’s only aerobatic formation wingwalking team, the iconic Breitling Wingwalkers. The aviation display team is expected to perform above the crowds of spectators throughout the Abu Dhabi Air Expo event, which will take place from the 8th to the 10th March 2016, at Al Bateen Executive Airport.
Speaking about their inaugural timekeeping partnership with the prestigious Abu Dhabi based event, Aed Adwan, Breitling Middle East said; “Creating instruments for aviation professionals is what lies at the core of Breitling’s heritage and very few other professions require the absolute precision that pilots do. That’s why this partnership makes sense for us and we are happy to be the official timekeeper for this world class event.
“To add even further thrills for regional and international visitors to the show, we are also happy to announce the return of the Breitling Wingwalkers who will perform every day at 2pm.”
The UK-based Breitling Wingwalkers, who have been specialists in display flying for over 30 years, will captivate crowds with their breath-taking sequences of acrobatic manoeuvres and handstands while strapped to the top wings of the team’s iconic Boeing Stearman biplanes and experience speeds of up to 240 km/h and up to 4G forces.

The Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2016 is part of the Abu Dhabi Aviation and Aerospace Week, which is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. The event is designed for industry professionals and private owners to showcase the industry’s latest developments and innovations. Over the past three editions, Abu Dhabi Air Expo has continued to grow in success, and in 2014, welcomed 13,500 visitors over the course of the event.
