In a first for a regional industry association, members of the Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA) have voted for and chosen the top executives from the communications industry, the corporate and government sectors as winners of the Visionary Award. Tara Rogers, Managing Partner of Dubai-based Mojo PR agency, won the communications agency executive Visionary Award, while Ala’a Eraiqat, Group CEO at Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, was chosen as the corporate Visionary Award winner. For the government/not-for-profit sector, Majida Ali Rashid, Assistant Director General of Dubai Land Department (DLD) & Head of Dubai Real Estate Promotion Center, was selected by MEPRA members as the recipient of the Visionary Award.
The winners of the Visionary Award were recognized for their impact and thought leadership over the previous years. Majida Ali Rashid’s work at DLD and her success in promoting Dubai’s real estate sector was recognized by MEPRA’s members, who also praised her support for promoting innovation in the Emirate’s real estate space. Tara Rogers was commended for her support of regional talent throughout her 25 year career, including her personal mentorship and encouragement of Arab talent. ADCB’s Group CEO Ala’a Eraiqat was chosen for his pioneering work in putting the consumer first, and for how he has promoted engagement with the business sector, particularly small and medium-sized business owners.
“I’m delighted to have three remarkable communicators winning our first Visionary Awards. Ala’a, Majida and Tara have all shown exemplary leadership in terms of their respective areas of business and expertise, and they’ve ensured that effective communications is at the forefront of the work being done by their respective organizations,” said Brian Lott, Chairman of MEPRA. “I’d like to thank all of our members who nominated as well as those executives who made it to the shortlist. We’re all working for the same goal, to promote inclusiveness and transparency, to inform and to motivate. This year’s Visionary Awards shows the strength of the leadership of this region when it comes to how they communicate.”
