Infoblox Participates as Gold Sponsor of IDC Egypt, North Africa & Levant CIO Summit 2015 in Cairo

Infoblox Inc., the automated network control company, today announced its participation as a gold sponsor of the IDC Egypt, North Africa & Levant CIO Summit 2015 taking place between March 31 – April 1 at the Four Seasons Hotel at Nile Plaza in Cairo. The company will showcase its latest innovations in DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (DDI) and aims to spread awareness about its position as a leading worldwide vendor providing holistic end-to-end DNS security. Infoblox will also demonstrate its cloud solutions that provide automated core network services for virtual machines in the datacentre to improve IT agility, enable faster time to service, and reduce operating costs.

Peter Goodwin, Technical Director at Infoblox will be a panellist on a breakout session entitled ‘Datacenter Transformation: Myths, Realities and Challenges’.  The session will help CIOs understand how to take a holistic approach towards modernization and transformation of their datacenters and how vendors can assist in the adoption of 3rd platform technologies.

Speaking about the company’s participation at the event, Cherif Sleiman, General Manager, Middle East at Infoblox says, “Infoblox has the largest global installed base of DNS, DHCP, and IP address management (DDI) appliances and we are making concerted efforts to bring our rich experience and technology to the Middle East in order to help regional enterprises enhance the security and reliability of their networks in the face of trends like mobility, cloud and virtualization, IT consolidation, software-defined networking and IPv6 transition which are throwing up new challenges to controlling networks.”

“IDC’s Egypt, North Africa & Levant CIO Summit is the foremost gathering of CIOs, providing a number of platforms for sharing ideas, advisory services to better assist them in their jobs, as well as establishing a peer-to-peer community. It is the ideal forum for us to expose our brand and showcase our products and capabilities to senior IT decision makers in the region.”

At the event, Infoblox will focus on two particular areas – DNS Security and Cloud Network Automation. In recent years, the weak-point being exploited has been the foundation of the internet itself – the Domain Name System (DNS). DNS fundamentally allows people and organizations to communicate, transact and conduct business in the most intuitive way possible. Because of its critical role in establishing all forms of connectivity across the internet, DNS traffic is always allowed to pass through firewalls. This has not escaped the attention of criminal elements who increasingly are exploiting the lack of defences for DNS infrastructure In the past 18 months. One of the most effective ways to address these DNS threats is from within DNS servers themselves, such as the carrier-grade protection provided by Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection (ADP).

As private clouds are rapidly gaining traction in the region, there comes the need for automated and scalable core network services to rapidly add and remove applications and services, easily shift workloads across sites, run workloads in multi-tenant architectures and make the underlying networks resilient to failures. Infoblox Cloud Network Automation delivers control that scales from pilot to production to multi-platform, so that private cloud deployments—regardless of size and scope—aren’t hobbled by manual processes for managing core network services. Infoblox solutions for managing DDI integrate with private cloud platforms from seven enterprise providers – VMware, Microsoft, HP, Cisco, BMC, CA and ElasticBox – as well as OpenStack, giving customers more choices than any other supplier of enterprise-grade DDI.
