Rest of World was awarded in four categories in the 45th annual creative competition
The Society For News Design awarded Rest of World a Bronze medal in the Design, Social Issues category of its 45th annual Creative Competition for the article How AI reduces the world to stereotypes, recognizing the team behind it, Joanne Lee (Designer), Anna Rasshivkina (Developer), Lily Lou (Developer), Cengiz Yar (Art Director).
The judges commented:This is a fascinating entry and impressive for a newsroom of this size. The judges noted that it is very data and graphic led, while remaining intriguing throughout and accessible on mobile as well.
SND also granted Rest of World projects awards of Excellence in three categories, 40 companies that are beating the West for Business Design, China, the world’s shopping cart for Line of Coverage: Business, and for all of those pieces plus the project How people laugh online in the category of Portfolio: Story Page Design.
