Josh Mangila, a Dubai-based Filipino multi-awarded, multi-media personality, brand influencer and Editor-in-Chief of a luxury travel magazine targeted to the affluent society in the Middle East, who was once a newspaper dealer in a small province in the Philippines, bags the prestigious ‘Media Personality of the Year’ award by The Filipino Times in a glittering award ceremony held last night August 20, 2016, at Boracay Bar, Asiana Hotel. The event was attended by UAE government officials, Philippine Ambassador to the UAE, Philippine Consul General, Filipino community leaders, business and corporate leaders, media and distinguished personalities.
Speaking about the award, Josh Mangila said: “Being recognised in such prestigious award is both an honour and responsibility. This award is a symbol of hope, love, respect and dreams of all Filipinos who are away from home fulfilling their dreams for their loved ones. The Filipino Times Awards is an annual recognition given to Filipinos in the UAE who pursue global excellence in their respective industries.
Speaking about the annual event, TFT’s Editor in Chief, Karen Remo said: “There are more than 1 Million Filipinos living in the UAE, the third largest expat community in the country. We received 500 nominations, out of that, 365 are individual nominations. So who do we have here right now are the best of the best, you guys are the best in the UAE society.”
Josh Mangila will soon launch the digital copy of XPEDITION Middle East to cater to its younger readers. Aside from that, Josh Mangila will soon be airing his first-ever travel radio show in one of the biggest radio stations in Dubai. Lastly, Josh will receive another recognition from the European Tourism travel and beauty association and will be the first Asian and Filipino to receive the highly coveted ‘Most Influential Travel Journalist Award’ which will be held in Malta this October.
