MEPRA Launches The Academy

MEPRA Academy to focus on providing a range of courses to communications professionals to support their career growth and development

In a move to support the growth of the region’s communications profession, the Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA) has set up the Academy. Designed to offer a set of training courses and solutions to communications professionals across the region, the Academy is part of MEPRA’s efforts to promote learning and development for marketing communications practitioners at every stage of their career.

Overseen by MEPRA’s board, the training and workshops will be led by regional and global experts in a range of disciplines. Workshops are both interactive and practical, with high levels of participation encouraged to promote learning as well as techniques and case studies that can be reapplied regionally.

Courses offered by the Academy will cover a wide variety of topics, including crisis communications, social media for communicators, PR planning, measurement and evaluation, internal communication and employee engagement, content development, effective media relations, and communication for executive leadership.

“Our mission is to support the development of the communications and public relations professions in the region, and the establishment of the Academy will enable us to align the region’s training and development with global standards as well as support our members at every stage of their career through tools, courses and other educational programs,” says Alex Malouf, MEPRA Vice-Chair and the Committee member responsible for the Academy. “We will be adding a range of courses and topics to the Academy’s list of training programs over the course of the year, and we believe that the Academy will become a key part in the development of any communications professional in the Middle East.”
