Ooredoo selects UM MENA for media duties

UM MENA today announced that they have been selected by Ooredoo Qatar for their media planning and buying duties. The exclusive local partnership will see UM MENA working with Ooredoo across the Qatar market.

UM MENA has managed Ooredoo’s media buying and planning activities since 2011 and, after a multi-agency pitch, the business was retained by their Qatar Office.

“As regional vanguards of the media industry, we are delighted to have a prestigious organisation like Ooredoo extend their relationship with us. This only further bolsters our alliance and gives us an opportunity to continue to explore the realms of new and traditional media through an ingenious approach to guarantee real results for them. Ooredoo are the leading communications company in Qatar, far outshining their competition, and together we will continue to raise the bar in every area,” said Hanan Tabsh, Business Director at UM MENA in Qatar.

In recent years, UM MENA has worked with Ooredoo in promoting a range of pioneering projects, including the launch of Ooredoo’s nationwide Ooredoo Fiber network, and the launch of 4G and 4G+ services in Qatar – all firsts for Qatar by Ooredoo. With Ooredoo offering Qatar’s biggest and fastest network along with an amazing range of digital services, UM MENA sees huge opportunities for media innovation in the coming months.

Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari, Director, Community & Public Relations, Ooredoo, said: “Ooredoo has been extremely successful in Qatar in recent years, increasing our value and market share, and leading the market with the best network, best range of services and best customer experience. Our approach to partnership – where we work with trusted suppliers and stakeholders over a period of time in order to continually enhance and improve our performance – is one of the factors in this success. We are pleased to extend our partnership with UM MENA, and look forward to seeing more innovative and entertaining media in the market in the coming months.”
