Two-time Tony nominee and Broadway triple threat Charlotte d’Amboise will take to the stage on May 21st to present the New York Festivals® 2015 Torch Award to the Grand-Winning Team.
The accomplished performer will honor the winners of the second annual Torch Awards at the 2015 New York Show℠ Gala ceremony taking place at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Fredrick P. Rose Hall.

Charlotte d’Amboise is a true “triple threat” who has mastered the art of acting, singing and dancing and has been in the spotlight in numerous Broadway productions. Throughout her longstanding career she has worked with such legendary directors as Bob Fosse, Jerome Robbins, Michael Bennett, Peter Martins, Rob Marshall, Ann Reinking, Debbie Allen, Gillian Lynn, Rob Ashford, Diane Paulus, Walter Bobby and George Balanchine.
Her Broadway credits boast roles in smash-hit musicals including A Chorus Line, Chicago, Sweet Charity, Damn Yankees, Jerome Robbins Broadway and Pippin. Ms. d’Amboise most recently played the role of Fastrada in the Broadway revival of Pippin, earning her the Fred Astaire Award, as well as awards for her performance as Lola in Damn Yankees and as Charity in Sweet Charity. The actress has received Tony nominations for Jerome Robbins Broadway and for her role as Cassie in the Broadway revival of A Chorus Line.
Other high profile accolades include scoring an LA Drama Critics Circle Award, an LA Ovation Award, and the Bay Area Theatre Award for her performance as Roxie in Chicago.
Ms. d’Amboise has also been featured on Broadway in Contact, Company, Song & Dance, and Cats. In addition to appearing in roles in Off-Broadway and regional productions, Ms. d’Amboise has also played characters on the big and small screens, including the acclaimed movie Frances Ha.
Her teacher training began with the National Dance Institute in NYC, and she has taught continuously throughout her illustrious career. She has a mastery of all things dance, including Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and, her specialty, Broadway Dance. The performer has taught for three years at Western Carolina University and holds the title of residence guest artist choreographer. She is a teacher/choreographer for Martha’s Vineyard Dance Camp, Broadway Comes to Denver, and The Carolina Arts Festival, and most recently choreographed and directed A Chorus Line.
New York Festivals created the Torch Awards as an expression of their ongoing commitment to the development and promotion of young creative talent. The competition offers a unique challenge for 18-25 year olds to promote the mission of an important international nonprofit organization, while allowing them to develop critical industry skills to help them elevate their careers.
The Project Solution, NYF’s partner in the second annual Torch Awards challenge, is a non-profit organization whose philosophy is centered on the idea that small solutions can make a big impact, the results: 5 years, 22 projects, 11 countries, over 12,000 lives changed.
