Sennheiser to Showcase ‘Audio for Video’ Solutions for Middle East Broadcast Industry at CABSAT 2016

Sennheiser today announced its participation at CABSAT, the Middle East and Africa’s largest broadcast, digital media and satellite expo, taking place from March 8-12 in Dubai. For the first time in the Middle East, the audio specialist will showcase its new EK6042 dual-channel camera-mount receiver- the world’s first receiver capable of working with both analogue and digital transmitters. Along with this, Sennheiser will demonstrate its broad range of audio solutions for broadcast, studio and live production applications.

CABSAT will mark the culmination of Sennheiser’s AVX contest which has seen scores of the region’s up-and-coming filmmakers submit their entries in the hopes of winning Sennheiser’s audio for video solutions. At the exhibition, an esteemed panel of judges which includes Allie Ghaffour, Head of Audio for Al Jazeera and Achim Gleissner, Commercial Manager for the Broadcast & Media Segment for Sennheiser, will pick three winners. “This competition has been our way of engaging with and supporting local content producers. We really want to encourage up and coming local talent to create interesting and engaging content that demonstrates their audio and video skills. We’re looking forward to seeing the level of talent that we have here and also to awarding an excellent audio for video solution based around AVX that will help them with their future projects and productions,” said Mig Cardamone, Director of Sales and Marketing at Sennheiser Middle East.

In line with this competition, Sennheiser intends to focus on its AVX solution at the show. The stress-free microphone systems for cameras and DSLR’s delivers wireless sound for video in just a few easy steps: plug the receiver onto the camera’s audio input, switch on the microphone transmitter – and everything is ready for action. “The system itself takes care of all the necessary settings making it the ideal fit for videographers on the go, field reporters, and any application that requires professional audio quality without the worry of frequency, interference, sensitivity or other technical aspects,” said Mig.

The  EK6042, Sennheiser’s other product highlight for the event, is a slot-in camera receiver that redefines compatibility. It is a true-diversity, two-channel receiver that can work with both analogue and digital Sennheiser transmitters including the Sennheiser series 9000, 5000, 3000, 2000 and evolution wireless. With four separate receiver circuits, the EK 6042 is extra-reliable, even in difficult RF environments.

As a Diamond Sponsor of the Content Marketplace in CABSAT, Sennheiser will participate in a panel discussion on the democratisation of content capture with the emergence of new technologies. Mig said, “The broadcast industry is a very important part of our global and regional business as we seek to maintain our leadership position in this segment and to shape the future of audio. This year we are strengthening our ties with CABSAT even further as the Diamond Sponsors for the Content Congress, as well as co-exhibiting at the show along with our long-term partner, Venuetech.“

“After a successful 2015 in which several regional broadcasters, including Al Jazeera Networks and Sharjah TV, adopted the gold-standard in wireless microphone systems, Digital 9000, we want to consolidate that success and show our support for the region‘s broadcasters and content creators by continuing to highlight our innovations in the industry. Of course with so many industry players participating and attending, it’s also a great opportunity to secure new leads and evaluate new partners,“ he concluded.
