BMW Club UAE makes history with first ever Bimmerfest in the Middle East

More than 600 BMW enthusiasts gathered on Friday 13th November to celebrate the first ever Bimmerfest in the UAE.

The event, which had been organised by the BMW Club UAE and was supported by AGMC, BMW Group’s local importer, took place at Dubai Autodrome in Motor City and featured an array of automotive displays and competitions alongside family-friendly activities.

The highlight of the event was the “Show & Shine“ contest, which saw a total of 90 cars enter across four different categories, including modern stock, modern modified, classic stock and classic modified. The winners included a BMW Z8 Hamann, a BMW E30 M3, BMW F10 M5 and finally a BMW Z4 Liberty walk kit that boasted more than 500Bhp and an adaptive lowering kit.

Other activities for the motoring fans included the roaring battle for the loudest decibel mark, which saw three winners score as loud as 120 to 140 decibels, as well as a comprehensive display of all the latest trends in motoring products and modifications on offer through the event sponsors.

Another crowdpleaser was AGMC’s display of six BMW cars, which included the pioneering BMW i8 – the first ever plug-in hybrid sports car – along with the all-new BMW 7 Series, which recently headlined the BMW stand at the Dubai International Motor Show. The BMW 7 Series continues to impress BMW Club members with its luxurious design features and innovative technology and, recently, BMW Group together with AGMC invited the club’s committee members to an exclusive dinner at an art gallery with Karim Habib, Chief Designer of BMW, who presented the car in detail to the guests.

In addition to the impressive range of classic, current and modified BMWs on display, there was something for the younger generation of BMW fans as well. An area fully dedicated to young children and their parents included unlimited fun for kids in the motoring themed “pit-stop fun park” and  face-painting booth.

The BMW Club UAE, a local BMW supporter group that brings together around 4,000 BMW aficionados from across the Emirates, was officially recognised by BMW Group’s global headquarters in Munich earlier this year. Ever since the accreditaion, BMW Club UAE has been collaborating closely with BMW Group Middle East and AGMC, the local importer of BMW cars in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, to organise attractive joint activities and promote lively discussions and technical exchange amongst local BMW advocates.
