Experts To Debate MENA Prepaid Market

Multi-Currency Prepaid Travel Cards Under Spotlight

This week’s sixth Prepaid Summit: Middle East is set to table a smorgasbord of current and emerging trends, according to Douglas Blakey, Group Editor for Consumer Finance at Timetric Financial Services, the event organiser.

He said that more than 150 global and regional industry players are set to join the annual event with speakers ready to discuss multiple-currency prepaid travel cards, the regional landscape, the regulatory framework affecting business practices, as well as security measures for corporate and private data protection.

Meanwhile, Sumit Tyagi, Visa’s MENA Director of Prepaid said that the Summit provides the ideal setting to engage in a dialogue with decision makers and influencers.

“Visa is joining various panel discussions looking at international updates, as well as regional viewpoints on the industry’s future. We also expect to hone in on the MENA region looking at its prominent role in the global prepaid market.”

He noted that there are sessions dedicated to prepaid landscape in the region and the convenience of the prepaid cards to customers, including case studies from other markets.

Other sessions include discussions on the launch of a multi-currency prepaid travel card, understanding the evolving prepaid customer, loyalty cards, the distribution of prepaid cards and how consumer-centric technology can boost the market.

Blakey suggested that the regional prepaid sector is set for strong growth, in line with government initiatives, an increase in e-commerce and burgeoning consumer spending.

“The Summit provides a timely platform to discuss regional trends and challenges and so to ensure the continued growth of prepaid MENA-wide,” he concluded.
