PRCA appoints Sarah Waddington as CEO

The PRCA has appointed Sarah Waddington CBE as CEO in an interim role until June 2025.

Waddington is a professional advisor and non-executive director with Wadds Inc., co-founder and director of Socially Mobile and a former president of the CIPR. She has been a member of the PRCA Board since September 2023 and has been providing interim leadership support for the organisation since 1 November 2024.

James Hewes has resigned as CEO of the PRCA and has left the organisation.

Ray Eglington, chair of the PRCA, said: “Sarah has played an important role over the last two months, stepping in to support the senior management team at the PRCA. She is the unanimous choice of the Board to take on leadership of the PRCA over the next six months, ensuring the Board-agreed strategy is implemented quickly and efficiently.

“In this role she will focus on building our core proposition, ensuring everything we do is focused on demonstrating and delivering value to members.”

Sarah Waddington CBE added: “The PRCA is well underway with an exciting period of modernisation so taking up this position now offers an unparallelled opportunity to connect with the industry across the UK and internationally.

“I’m looking forward to getting out there and championing member needs, not to mention being an advocate of our services to policy makers and the wider business community.

“A new website is being implemented that will greatly enhance the member experience and a raft of initiatives designed to add member value will be unveiled across 2025.”
