Emirati columnist Khalid Al Ameri hosts Ramadan segment on CNN International’s Connect the World

CNN International’s Abu Dhabi based show; Connect the World with Becky Anderson has collaborated with Khalid Al Ameri, an Emirati columnist, to present a unique series about Ramadan.

The series touches on significant aspects of Ramadan as he takes viewers on a journey around the UAE. He discusses the principle pillars of Ramadan, how it has been observed historically and the timeless traditions that are honoured today. Khaled Al Ameri is also the first Emirati journalist to host a segment on CNN International.

Al Ameri, a local Emirati columnist and social commentator on the Arab World regarding issues such as education, youth and social development, has built his career in the UAE as a motivational speaker, personal growth specialist and philanthropist.

While speaking about his experience, he explained, “It has been a privilege to work with CNN on a project that is so close to my heart.” While it is important to reflect and give back all year round, Ramadan provides the perfect opportunity for everyone to come together no matter what their traditions, situations or backgrounds.”

“It has been a humbling experience to spend time with people from all walks of life. One of the most memorable episodes featured our time with Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, Chairman of Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education, who invited us into his home for Suhour as we discussed the importance of giving and the role it plays during the Holy Month. There is so much that I continue to learn everyday”, Al Ameri said.
