Digitisation is becoming the most common trend among MENA businesses

Technology is shaping the future for businesses and digital documents and information are both driving companies forward and challenging them in new ways. According to Canon’s Office Insights report, digital documents are essential to workplace productivity and scanning has become a vital business element and its use is increasing.

According to the report, 76% of MENA organisations believe that printing or copying documents is “essential” or “very important” for them personally. While scanning is seen as very important by 39%, Multi-Functional Devices (MFDs)  such All-in-One Printer, Scanner and Copiers have significantly improved productivity for around 50% of all end-users, with MFD usage increasing by 38%.

The findings are a part of Canon’s Office Insights report which aims to highlight the impact of document handling technology in high-growth markets across Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, the Middle East and Africa. The in-depth analysis of 1,000 business decision-makers and end-users in 10 key countries revealed a trend towards digitisation, and a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

The report also states that digitisation is becoming the most common technology trend in MENA and is influencing organisations and contributing to increased productivity and service.

“It’s clear that businesses across regional markets are being empowered by innovative technology, and are welcoming futuristic ways of working to drive growth,” says Hendrik Verbrugghe, Marketing Director, Canon Middle East and Canon Central and North Africa. “However, it is not without its set of challenges and therefore it is crucial we address concerns and provide the right level of guidance for each unique market, to ensure businesses are making informed and beneficial technology investments. The insight the report has given us means we can better address the unique pain points of each region, and raise awareness to support the markets as they use the right technologies to improve office processes,” added Verbrugghe.

Canon’s Office Insights 2016 report studies information management and technology’s role in how it is managed. The study leverages findings from business decision-makers and end-users across Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, the Middle East and Africa.
