Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Abu Dhabi Duty Free’s website, www.addf.ae, launched in June, has won two awards at the Interactive Media Awards (IMA). The website, which showcases Abu Dhabi Duty Free’s most popular products, has been named ‘Best in Class’ in two categories – E-commerce and Consumer Goods – highlighting the exceptional service quality the site offers.
The friendly interface and sleek design of www.addf.ae was created to further enhance the passenger experience at Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) and to provide travelers with a range of core duty free items from beauty, food and accessories, to souvenirs and toys, online, prior to departure or upon arrival at AUH.
H.E. Ali Majed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports, commented: “We are honored to receive these two awards from the Interactive Media Council. This kind of recognition from industry leaders acts as an incentive for us to continue to deliver first class digital services to all those who use Abu Dhabi Airports’ websites.” H.E. added: “After record sales of AED 1.5 billion at Abu Dhabi Duty Free in 2015, we hope that this award winning website will give travelers even more reason to fly to, from, and via Abu Dhabi International Airport, further boosting sales.
This year’s two Interactive Media Awards are added to a series of accolades received by Abu Dhabi Airports for its digital presence. The portfolio of sites under the group’s umbrella has also won several Middle East and international awards across various categories, including: Best Homepage Design; Best Overall Website Design; and Best Mobile Site.
The IMAs were created by the Interactive Media Council (IMC), a non-profit organization founded in New York in 2005, dedicated to elevating the standards of excellence on the internet. The IMAs set out to recognize outstanding website design and development and honor individuals and organizations for their achievements.
