Dubai Trade has shortlisted the finalists for the 8th edition of the E-Services Excellence Awards (ESEA) with winners to be announced at the event tonigh under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai. The ESEA is an annual event highlighting e-service developments in trade and logistics and to recognize those who have best adopted them on the Dubai Trade portal.
New theme and award categories
The theme of this year’s awards follows the Government’s Smart City and Innovation initiatives encouraging the use of mobile services and to increase “smart” transactions. Categories reflect key services on the Dubai Trade portal recognising leading users of M-Token Services, Free Zone Services, Clearance Services and Payment Services on their mobile and smart phones.
A new Innovation category will recognise the best innovation project in trade and logistics developed by companies based in the UAE. Four organisations have been shortlisted after presenting to the judging panel comprising Yousif Al Mutawa, Chief Information Officer of DP World, Sara Falaknaz, Vice President for Innovation at DP World, and Mahmood Al Bastaki, CEO of Dubai Trade.
Celebrating success
H.E. Jamal Majid bin Thaniah, Chairman of Dubai Trade, said: “We are proud to welcome the Ministry of Economy as the strategic supporter of the 8th ESEA. Their backing over the years illustrates their commitment to innovation and e-Services in the UAE and has ensured the premier position of the ESEA as the leading event for the adoption of e-Services in the region. Dubai Trade has embarked on a campaign to encourage the trade and logistics community to base many of their business transactions around smartphones.”
Two new exporter awards
Eng. Mahmood Al Bastaki, CEO of Dubai Trade, said: “The ESEA award recognises achievements in mobile service usage by customers. It also rewards those who produce the highest number of mobile transactions, raising awareness of the Dubai Trade Portal as the single window for trade facilitation in the region. The 8th ESEA is further evidence that Dubai is on the right track in becoming a global business hub.”
Al Bastaki added: “Alongside the new innovation award we are also partnering with Dubai Exports for two new awards, the ‘New Exporter of the Year’ and ‘Innovative Exporter of the Year’, both of which will be announced at the event ceremony.”
