Established 10 years ago, Tharawat Family Business Forum (TFBF) today announced the launch of Family Business Arabia, the 1st Arabic content website focused on family businesses.
Family Business Arabia aims to become a learning reference for family businesses and highlight the importance in conveying best-practice for family businesses through story telling and real examples in Arabic.
Ms. Farida F. El-Agamy, General Manager, Tharawat Family Business Forum, said: “We are aware of the importance of creating Arabic content, not only to make it accessible to family business leaders of today and tomorrow, but also because it celebrates our regional heritage and the legacies which these families are working so hard to preserve.”
According to a recent survey by PWC, more than 80 per cent of the private sector in the Middle East is family-owned or managed. They are the drivers of economies not only in the region, but worldwide.
Family Business Arabia will include stories from families across the world, interviews with business leaders and provide best practice case studies. Story-telling is well-embedded in Arabic culture, both ancient and contemporary, and Family Business Arabia builds on this embedded practice, and aims at continuing the legacy of conveying knowledge through tales.
The content published on the site is based on the current and back issues of Tharawat Magazine, a leading global publication on family businesses and entrepreneurship co-founded by TFBF seven years ago.
“We recognize the importance of high quality content creation in supporting family businesses in their growth. Every family business holds generations of wisdom and stories and it is important to document what their struggles were and what they have achieved,” added Ms. El-Agamy.
The launch of Family Business Arabia comes as yet another pioneering step from Tharawat Family Business Forum on its mission to support family business sustainability, growth and success in the face of a fast changing global economy.
