Hellofood/Foodpanda raises USD 110 Million in new funding round

Global food delivery company already active in 40 countries across five continents will further invest in achieving best customer service

hellofood/foodpanda, the online food delivery marketplace active in 40 countries across five continents, today announces that it has secured another round of funding of USD 110 Million. The sum comes from Rocket Internet AG, as well as other existing and new investors. Since its launch in 2012, the company has now raised more than USD 200 Million. Weeks after the acquisition of Dubai-based food online delivery portal 24h, the company will now further invest into its product and technology, and continue focusing on customer service and loyalty for becoming the most convenient and most user friendly way of ordering food delivery or take-away.

Beschir Hussain, Co-Founder and CEO of hellofood Middle East: “We are pleased by the sign of confidence and acknowledgement of our current success and progress. With the new funding we will now more than ever focus on further improving the user experience on all our platforms.“

Hellofood is a two-sided marketplace connecting restaurants with customers. It helps restaurants to increase delivery sales through online and mobile platforms, and provides them with constantly evolving technology and analytics. Customers can choose their favorite meal online, and foodpanda sends the order directly to the restaurant, which delivers the meal to the customer. Recently, hellofood also announced the launch of its new same-hour delivery unit in Saudi Arabia, with which they help restaurants to establish an additional channel of revenues.
