Rasha Nashat, founder of Listaproperty – the first online real estate portal for buyers and sellers in the MENA region – sponsored local youth sport team The Football Aaccademy (TFA) at The Gothia Cup in Sweden last month. The gesture reinforced Rasha’s commitment to nurturing young minds and shaping the next generation of successful leaders in the Middle East.
Listaproperty strongly believes in giving back to the community by enriching the lives of young people. In partnering with TFA, Listaproperty created an opportunity to send talented players to participate in the world’s largest and most international youth football tournament. The Gothia Cup not only gave Dubai’s most determined young players the opportunity to compete against some of the world’s best youth teams, but encouraged engagement between members of the various communities involved.
Rasha, featured amongst Arabian Business’ 100 most powerful Arabic women of 2012, is also of Emirati heritage. To be in a position of privilege, the like of which allows her to give back to her own community, is a proud achievement for Rasha, and a responsibility that she takes extremely seriously.
Star TFA player Ziyad Fakhuri aged fourteen, who, like Rasha, calls Dubai home, is an ideal candidate for Listapropertys generous support. His unrelenting hunger for the sport and his determination to succeed, despite being faced with obstacles, was admirable in the build up to the competition and throughout. These types of traits among the young players are the driving force behind Rasha’s decision to sponsor TFA.
Ziyad says, “Playing for The Football Academy is both challenging and exciting, and over the past seven months I have learnt so much. Coach Ali works on teaching us new skills on the pitch, as well as helping us to keep our composure, practice good sportsmanship and walk away from situations that have the potential to escalate”
Rasha says, “With his drive and determination, Ziyad is a fine example of what Listaproperty hope to achieve; to inspire the ambitous youth of the Middle East to pursue their dreams and in turn, help to create a strong and successful generation that will shape the future of the region. We hope other young people will be encouraged to work as hard as Ziyad.”
Ziyad aspires to turn his love of football into a career and will continue to train with TFA in order to do so. Listaproperty will sponsor TFA in future tournaments, and support the youth of the Middle East wherever possible, as part of their youth initiaitive.
