Cheil London appoints Nick Craske and Georgia Barretta

Cheil London has boosted its creative department with two new hires.

Nick Craske joins as Creative Director, working across all the agency’s accounts, including Samsung, Coca-Cola, Etihad Airways and Asda.

Craske joins from Forever Beta, where he was also a Creative Director.

Prior to Forever Beta, Craske was a Creative Director at Isobar, where he developed leading edge work for Google, including the “Incredibly close” campaign, in which fans of Italian rock band Subsonica designed gifs that played on their idols’ jackets as they performed on stage.

Georgia Barretta, who takes up the new role of Creative Director Design, joins Cheil from WPP’s global activation agency, Geometry Global, where she was Head of Design.

She will be responsible shaping innovation around the agency’s design offering and will work across all clients. Barretta and Craske report into Executive Creative Director Caitlin Ryan, who joined the agency from Karmarma in January.

Barretta headed up the design output at Geometry Global for two years, and also led the team that won the Diageo business for the agency. She also worked across the HSBC, Emirates, Mondelez, Heineken and GSK accounts.

Before Geometry Global, Barretta worked at Saatchi & Saatchi X in London for three years as Head of Design. During her time there she worked on brands including Diageo, HTC, Nikon, Cadbury and Arla, and set up the agency’s 2D and 3D design departments.

Caitlin Ryan said: “I want to break up the way traditional creative departments are structured, which is why I am finding best-in-breed specialists to work collaboratively as creative directors with wider teams across all our accounts. Both Georgia and Nick over-index on passion, talent and collaboration.”

Cheil is continuing to expand its creative department, and is set to announce a head of film as well as a third creative director in the near future.

Nick Craske said: “It is thrilling to be joining Cheil London during this transformative time for the agency. There is a vital energy and ambition within the growing team, to create compelling, engaging and magnetic digital experiences – I am looking forward to our creative adventure ahead.”

Georgia Barretta said: “I have a personal conviction that craft lies at the heart of engagement. My goal is to drive communication innovation within the opportunities now surfacing at Cheil.”
