The Saudi National Day is special. LG and Qimmam have taken the Saudi flag to the highest mountain in Africa known as the Roof of Africa, Kilimanjaro. Celebrating the National Day this year has a special and unique flavor. While millions of Saudis will be celebrating this day in Saudi Arabia and whenever Saudis are around the globe. The Saudi flag will be taken up to the highest peak in Africa, and the closest to the clouds and mountains.
On this occasion A group of young Saudis and friends from different nationalities, (Egyptian, Syrian, South Korean) living in Saudi Arabia, have decided to take the extra mile celebrating the National Day this year, to climb the Kilimanjaro, so that by the 24th of September 2015 they will reach the peak of this mountain to take up the Saudi flag. This sense of patriotism and belonging, coupled with the flair to adventure in the big air and wildness has met the strong open back up and support by South Korean’s flagship “LG electronics Saudi Arabia”.
“When Qimmam came to us with the concept, our decision for LG to sponsor and support this activity was quickly taken. After a couple of meetings we reached there. LG has exerted non-stop efforts and much of support and enthusiasm to make our trip a success. It has sent one of its associates, Mr. Ji, to join the team. The team has made all the needful preparations and training exercises before realizing the Flag Day, on 24th Sep. The team’s program includes 7 full-activity days. On the first day, a hike was made to Machame Camp 2,980m and on the second day the hike targeted Shiram Camp 3840m. The hike of the third day went to Barranco Camp 3950m then it moved to Karanga Valley 3,930m in the fourth day. The team hiked on the fifth day to Barafu Camp 4,550m followed by a trip to the top of Africa and down Mweke Camp 3,100m on the sixth day. On the last day of the adventures, the hike was engaged to Kilimanjaro National Park/Mountain gate (1,000m).
