Gulf Marketing Group Appoints Amin Nasser as CEO

Gulf Marketing Group (GMG), one of the Middle East’s leading holding companies, has today announced the appointment of Amin Nasser as the new Group CEO.

The appointment comes at an important time for the company, as it is on track to deliver record growth in 2015 through regional expansion, diversification of existing businesses, and implementation of new corporate opportunities.

GMG currently operates one of the UAE’s most significant business portfolios, which includes retail outlets, brands and services such as Sun & Sand Sports, Super-Care Pharmacy, Farm Fresh, Good Health stores and Trilogi Logistics.

In his new role, Nasser will be responsible for the overall Group productivity, as well as setting and executing the company’s growth strategy across the Middle East region.

With a career spanning more than 35 years, Nasser brings with him a wealth of experience within the family business sector.

Previously a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers since 1980, Nasser headed up the company’s Family Business Forum in the UAE. During his time with the professional services firm, Nasser worked with a large number of regional families advising them on key issues such as strategy, continuity and governance.

In addition, Nasser has a wide range of business advisory and corporate finance experience gained in the UAE and the UK in a variety of sectors including government, oil and gas, airlines, trading and manufacturing.

Nasser assumes his new position from current Group Deputy Chairman and CEO, Mohammad Baker, who remains in the Group Deputy Chairman role.

Speaking of Nasser’s appointment, Mr. Baker commented:  “We are delighted to have Amin Nasser join GMG as Group CEO during this important time for our business.  We are an ambitious company with a bold vision, and a solid growth trajectory.  As we continue to grow and diversify across the Middle East, the GMG Board and I are confident that Amin Nasser is the right person to lead the company forward”.

“He has a proven ability to create strategic clarity, drive innovation and growth, ensure disciplined execution, and deliver results. We believe that his expertise and experience will bring a wealth of benefits to our customers, employees and partner” Baker added.

Earlier this year, GMG announced plans to open 47 new stores in 2015. The new openings will be across core retail divisions including Sun & Sand Sports, Good Health and Supercare Pharmacy. 2015 will also see the launch of Middle East’s first Sun Coast outdoor furniture store.

GMG’s growth is being driven by continued business development in established regions such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE, as well as entry into new regional markets.
