The Coffee Club opens in Dubai

Australia’s largest home grown café restaurant launches its second branch in the UAE

Hot on the heels of the its’ Abu Dhabi launch, Australian chain The Coffee Club has opened its doors in Dubai at the Wasl Vita Mall.

The Dubai branch was inaugurated by Mr. Michael Chick, General Manager, Liwa Minor Food and Beverages LLC at the Emirate’s newest go to place. Also present at the unveiling were distinguished guests. Liwa Minor Food and Beverages, the joint venture company of local operator Al Nasser Holdings and Thai publicly listed company Minor Food Group are excited to bring The Coffee Club to the region as its first food brand. This is the chain’s second branch in the UAE, having opened its first at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Mall in January.

The chain that serves more than 40 million cups of coffee to its approximately 30 million customers annually is well known for its famous all day breakfast and serves as a relaxed meeting place for patrons. Apart from its breakfast option, the cafe offers a variety of food options including sensational salads, sandwiches, light meals and pastas. Customers will always find something to delight their taste buds throughout the day.

“Dubai is home to over 200 nationalities and a place where new brands are accepted and celebrated. The concept of meeting friends old and new over the weekend has become an integral part of the UAE fabric. This made deciding to open a second branch within the space of three months only natural,” said Mr. Chick.

“We are excited to bring Australia’s largest coffee chain to the UAE. One of the key reasons we decided to bring down the franchise is because the UAE is Australia’s most important trading partner in the Middle East and North African region with trade valued at AED 19.8 billion in 2012. The response to the Abu Dhabi branch has been tremendous and we hope Dubai’s launch mirrors that,” said Mr. Abdulla Nasser Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Board at Al Nasser Holdings and Group. “Within the next three years we hope to expand into other markets in the GCC.”

The Coffee Club is owned by Minor DKL Food Group; a leading Australian retail food brand franchisor. Since its inception in 1989, the café group has expanded to 360 cafés throughout 9 countries including Thailand, Egypt and China. Another eight cafes and restaurants are in the pipeline in the UAE while it is expected to reach 25 cafes in the country within the next 4 years.
