JWT’S Norman Tan to oversee Outdoor Lotus and Press Lotus at ADFEST 2015

One of Asia’s great creative talents, Norman Tan, is joining ADFEST 2015 as Jury President of Outdoor Lotus and Press Lotus.

Tan was recently appointed China Chairman and North Asia Chief Creative Officer at JWT Asia Pacific in a role covering Greater China, Korea and Japan. He joined from Lowe China, where he was Chief Creative Officer and Vice Chairman, based in Shanghai.

“It is my great honour to be invited by prestigious ADFEST next year as Jury President for two exciting Outdoor Lotus and Press Lotus categories. I am looking forward to working with our panel of talented judges from the region, to be “scared” by the submission entries, and to echo the festival’s theme ‘Be Bad’,” says Tan.

Tan was JWT’s Southeast Asia ECD from 2000 to 2005. During this time, JWT Malaysia won the country’s first Cannes Lions Grand Prix, JWT Bangkok was ranked among the world’s top 12 creative agencies by the Gunn Report, and JWT Singapore rose to prominence. Prior to that, he was ECD at JWT Taiwan.

At Lowe China, Tan helped the agency win Grand Prix at both China’s 4A and Great Wall national awards two years in a row in 2013 and 2014. His latest “Human traffic signs” campaign for Buick also won multiple gongs at major international shows.

Jimmy Lam, President of ADFEST, says: “Wherever Tan moves, awards seem to follow. He is a natural talent and a leader whose pan-Asian experience will be a huge advantage as Jury President of Outdoor Lotus and Press Lotus next year.”

Tan was ranked the No.1 high profile agency professional in the Greater China region in 2013 by the R3 Report. He was also awarded first prize for “Top Creative Director in Greater China 2013” by the Longyin Review.

ADFEST 2015 runs from 19th – 21st March 2015 at the Royal Cliff Hotels Group in Pattaya, Thailand.
