Cairo Design Week (CDW), the region’s fastest-growing platform for design and creativity, has unveiled its first-ever campaign: “Design, So I Can See You”.
More than a campaign, it is a statement of intent – setting the tone for CDW 2025, the most ambitious edition to date, running November 20th to 29th across three districts: Heliopolis, Zamalek, and Downtown.
Inspired by Socrates’ words, “Speak, so I can see you”, the campaign reimagines expression through design. “Design, So I Can See You” positions design as a universal language, an act of identity, intention, and visibility. It asserts that design, like speech, is how we declare who we are: as individuals, as communities, and as a culture. Through design, we see – and we are seen.
At the center of the campaign is a hero video showing that design is not meant to be passively observed, but actively lived and felt – in the spaces we inhabit, the furniture we use, the clothes we wear, and the signs that guide our cities. With the campaign visual identity, the campaign celebrates the human spirit behind design and invites designers, artists, and communities to make their voices visible.
Hisham Mahdy, CEO of Cairo Design Week, expressed his excitement stating: “This is a landmark moment for Cairo Design Week. Our first campaign, ‘Design, So I Can, See You’, is both a promise and an invitation. It promises that this year will be CDW’s most powerful edition yet, and it invites designers and creatives to step forward, be seen, and shape the cultural dialogue around design… Cairo Design Week is not just an event, but a movement that shapes how design is experienced in Egypt”
Since its launch in 2022, Cairo Design Week has grown into one of the region’s most dynamic cultural gatherings. The 2024 edition featured over 100 designers, 150 exhibitors, and 80 speakers. This year, the program expands that momentum, connecting Egypt’s creative voices with global leaders and placing Cairo among international design capitals such as Milan, London, and Dubai.
For ten days, CDW 2025 will transform Cairo into a citywide design playground, activating streets, landmarks, and public spaces with installations, exhibitions, pavilions, trails, and live experiences.
Talks, workshops, and cultural programming will honor Egypt’s design heritageled visibility and global connection while embracing forward looking innovation. A new CDW Universities Initiative will spotlight emerging talent, offering young designers unparalleled opportunities and exposure.
Ticket sales for Cairo Design Week 2025 are now open, marking the countdown to the festival’s most ambitious edition yet.
